Freedom
of speech and censorship
Before
talking about
freedom of speech, we should know what it is. Freedom of speech
is
a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community
to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of government
retaliation, censorship,
or sanction.
In
an ideal world, everyone could talk about whatever they want without
any fears, but we're not in an ideal world. In truth, the problem is
not from the world, but from the people who live in it. Before
talking about freedom of speech, I would like to talk about Human
Rights. In our society, we tend to punish everyone who’s different.
Just have a look, and you’ll see that there are a lot of people who
suffer just because they are the way they are . Black people, gays,
women, lesbians, transsexuals,…
I
would like to explain what I’m trying to say with a clear example :
inequality between sexes. Since the beginning of time,
women
have been treated in a different way by the simple fact of being
women. And now that the world begins to change, it’s said that
women only want to be over men.
Just to be clear : Feminism is a range of political movements,
ideologies, and social movements that share a common goal: to define,
establish, and achieve political, economic, personal, and social
equality
of sexes.This
includes seeking to establish educational and professional
opportunities for women
that
are
equal to
those for
men.
In
conclusion, the reason why there’s censorship is because not
everyone accepts all the opinions. We’re all different and that’s
what makes us exceptional. We should start to worry less about others
ideas. Everyone deserves to be treated the same way.
